Role Summary:

As a StaffDataEngineer at DispatchHealth,you'llbe a key technical leader driving our mission to revolutionize in-home healthcare. Yourexpertisewill directly contribute to improving patient care and expanding access to quality healthcare in the comfort of people's homes.

What You'll Do

  • Data Architecture & Engineering: Design, build, andmaintainscalable, secure, and efficient data pipelines and architectures to support analytics, machine learning, and operational workflows.

  • ETL/ELT Development: Develop robust ETL/ELT processes to ingest, clean, transform, and integrate data from multiple sources, ensuring data integrity and quality.

  • Cloud & Infrastructure: MaintainAWScloud-based data platformsand infrastructure-as-code (IaC) solutions for automation and scalability.

  • Database & Storage Optimization: Manage andoptimizerelational (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and non-relational (e.g., Snowflake,BigQuery,Databricks, NoSQL) databases for performance and cost efficiency.

  • Data Governance & Security: Establishbest practices for data governance, access control, privacy, and compliance (e.g., HIPAA, SOC 2) to ensure secure and compliant data handling.

  • Collaboration & Cross-Functional Support: Work closely with data scientists, analysts, product teams, and software engineers to deliver data-driven solutions that enhance patient outcomes and business operations.

  • Automation & CI/CD: Implement CI/CD pipelines and automation for data workflows, ensuring rapid and reliable deployment of data products.

  • Monitoring & Reliability: Develop observability strategies, including logging, alerting, and monitoring for data pipelines, ensuring uptime and reliability.

  • Technical Leadership: Mentor junior engineers, drive engineering best practices, and contribute to the team’s technical roadmap and strategic initiatives.

What You Need

  • Experience: 6+ years of experience in data engineering, software engineering, or related fields, preferably in healthcare, health tech, or regulated industries.

  • Tech Stack: Proficiencywith SQL, Python, Spark,dbt, and orchestration tools likePrefect.

  • Data Warehousing & Modeling: Strongexpertisein designing data warehouses, dimensional modeling, and data lake architectures.

  • Security & Compliance: Familiarity with healthcare data regulations (HIPAA, HITRUST, etc.) and security best practices.

  • Communication & Problem-Solving: Ability to work cross-functionally, translate business needs into technical solutions, and drive projects independently.

  • Education: Bachelor’s orMaster’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Standout Qualities:

  • Experience with healthcare-specific technologies (e.g., HL7, FHIR, HIPAA compliance)

  • Understanding of healthcare workflows and regulations
