Cummins Inc. Legal Analyst - Graduate in Pune, India

DESCRIPTION

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage compliance by mapping, identifying, and addressing potential gaps to uphold legal standards and mitigate risks.

  • Provide end-to-end legal support in project management and execution.

  • Conduct approximately 10+ trainings for purchasing every year.

  • Offer advisory support to various business units, addressing a wide range of legal inquiries and concerns, including disputes and regulatory matters to mitigate legal risks and optimize business operations.

  • Conduct legal research on a wide range of topics, including regulatory compliance, case law, and industry standards.

  • Analyze legal issues and provide recommendations or solutions to support business objectives.

  • Manage litigation and corporate governance matters, including regulatory filings.

  • Review basic documents and routine contracts, address legal questions, and assist on projects under the supervision of an attorney.

  • Undertake directed legal research and work with more experienced attorneys to understand the application of legal analysis.

  • Build professional experience and learn the practical aspects of applied law, as well as the functions of the business.

  • Manage small portions of well-defined projects and provide administrative and logistics support for a project team and project manager.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Law.

  • License to practice law in home jurisdiction (can be obtained during Graduate program).

  • This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

QUALIFICATIONS

Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum level of relevant experience required.

  • Experience in managing compliance, providing legal support, conducting trainings, and offering advisory support to business units.
